What I’ve Been Reading

Not that anyone else is probably interested, but every now and then I like to make a list of books I recently read. So here I go: Bernard Cooper’s A Year of Rhymes; Mark Doty’s Dog Years; Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass; Cynthia Hogue’s Incognito Body; Brenda Shaughnessy’sInterior with Sudden Joy; Rick Hilles’s Brother Salvage; Aristotle’s Poetics; Kei Miller’s Kingdom of Empty Bellies; Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s Love in the Time of Cholera; Edwidge Danticat’s Krik? Krak! And I just started Patrick Chamoiseau’s Texaco. Expect more Caribbean lit in the weeks to come…I am headed to Jamaica after all.
