Five Boroughs Music Festival Fundraiser

I’ll be reading my poem “8:46 AM, Five Years Later” at the Five Boroughs Music Festival Fundraiser this Saturday. It’s the next collaborative project in the works with composer John Glover for the Five Borough Songbook.

Please join us on July 16th for a special evening of music featuring appearances by several artists from our upcoming Fifth Season roster – including a sneak preview of our bold new Five Borough Songbook, a collection of 20 new songs by 20 unique composers, all on themes that celebrate New York City through its history, geography and poetry. Commissioned by 5BMF, the Songbook will have its world premiere in October 2011.

CHRISTOPHER BERG & TOM CIPULLO at the piano (accompanied by 5BMF’s artistic director, baritone Jesse Blumberg), MOHAMMED FAIROUZ, ALEKSANDRA VREBALOV, CHRISTOPHER TIGNOR & JOHN GLOVER speaking about  their new works, and others to be announced!
Also featuring soprano JOLLE GREENLEAF and lutenist HANK HEIJINK, to preview next spring’s collaboration with TENET.
