Matthew Hittinger

Matthew Hittinger is the author of Pear Slip, winner of the Spire Press 2006 Spring Chapbook Award, and Narcissus Resists, winner of the Beauty/Truth Press 2007 Chapbook Competition. Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (not far from the grave of H.D.), Matthew earned an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan where he won a Hopwood Award for Poetry and The Helen S. and John Wagner Prize. His work has appeared in American Letters & Commentary; Beauty/Truth: A Journal of Ekphrastic Poetry; DMQ Review; DIAGRAM; Fine Madness; Mantis; Memorious; Meridian; Michigan Quarterly Review; and elsewhere, including the anthology Best New Poets 2005. He lives and works in New York City.
