The new journal Assaracus (taking its name from Ganymede’s brother, and continuing the legacy of the late John Stahle’s journal Ganymede) edited by Bryan Borland at Sibling Rivalry Press debuts! I’m holding my contributor copy and am excited to dive in. The fun thing about Assaracus (aside from its, ahem, “cheeky” name–check out the cover below) is that rather than feature fewer poems by a multitude of people in one issue, it focuses on a smaller number of poets and devotes more pages to their work, creating mini-portfolios. I always prefer reading a body of work than a one-off poem anyway.
I have a seven-poem spread with the following poems: “Interview with Ms. Hortense Corpulence After Her Final Atlantis Cruise Line Performance,” “Vertex,” “Movie Shoot at the Empire Hotel,” “Keystone Effect: Pole Steeple,” and “A Bus Journeys West” from The Erotic Postulate; “Skin Game” from Skin Shift; and “One Day HoMo” from Impossible Gotham.
The debut issue also features work by: Shane Allison, Jay Burodny, Gavin Dillard, Christopher Hennessy, James Kangas, Raymond Luczak, Frank J Miles, Stephen Scott Mills, and Eric Norris.
Click here to pre-order a copy! It drops in January!
