Hello, blog. Sorry I’ve been away for a while. I’m thinking in 2012 I might try to do a weekly post again like I used to do. In the meantime, here’s a summary of what I’ve been up to, what my work has been up to, what’s coming down the road:
I continue to work on my Marilyn Monroe poem project. This composition process has been much slower for me than previous book projects, but I’m kind of enjoying taking my time with the material. The latest additions to the sequence are a poem collaboration with painter Judith Peck for an upcoming “Icon” collaboration issue of Poets&Artists magazine. And a calligramme in the shape of Marilyn’s face.

If you’re in NYC this weekend, and missed the world premiere of the Five Boroughs Songbook last month at Galapagos, the Queens premiere of the songbook will be Saturday at Flushing Town Hall. There’s a composer chat at 2pm (at which I’ll be present to represent the poet side of the collaboration) and the concert begins at 3. Discount for students and Queens residents. Here’s the link to order tickets.

StepAway magazine has nominated “Füße: Umlauts, Eszetts, A Step” for a Pushcart Prize and for Sundress Best of the Net. Always an honor to get a nod!

My web designer, Harlo, is working on a new look for the site that should drop in time for 2012 (and quite possibly sooner!). It’s time to move on from the pear…

Speaking of moving on from the pear, Spire Press is closing its doors after a 10 year run, so Pear Slip will soon be out of print. I have a supply of copies, though, so will make the remaining stock available here on the site. Signed, too!

I’ve seen the first pages from Skin Shift to approve the font and book size. Now we move on to figuring out the cover art!
