Thunderstorms flooding the city. Air so heavy with humidity and pollution and rotting trash it’s hard to breathe. Showering multiple times a day to stay cool and get the film off your skin. Ah New York in the summertime. It’s around this time every year I start dreaming of Autumn and crisper days and getting my wardrobe back. I miss layering.

What’s new. I read at the NY Poetry Festival on Governor’s Island last weekend as part of the Poets House tribute to Joe Brainard. Read one of his Nancy pieces and a couple other short ones from the new Collected Writings out from the Library of America. It’s a great volume and includes all of “I Remember” and his poem comics and journal entries. Check it out! And thanks to Stephen Motika for organizing; check out his new book, Western Practice, too!

A great new review of Skin Shift is up on GoodReads from one of the giveaway contest winners (thank you, Dina!). It’s always a thrill when your book finds its readers and audience.

A new poem is up at The Nervous Breakdown, “Styx” from my Impossible Gotham project.

I have some anthology and interview news, but will bundle that in a separate post. In the meantime, let’s have a kiki.
