Emotive Fruition

This coming week two of my poems — “Orange Colored Sky” and “Samson in Reverse” — will be performed in the “Lions and Lambs” edition of the Emotive Fruition reading series, curated and directed by Thomas Dooley. The collaborative series pairs accomplished actors up with NYC’s emerging poets. I got to hear a preview at rehearsal last night and it’s going to be an amazing event. The actors have major talent and their interpretations of our poems will give you a goose bumpy feeling, especially with how the poems are ordered–the arc of each half of the performance really takes you on a journey and it’s amazing how 36 poems or so come together to make a whole, and leave you with the feeling you’ve just seen a coherent show. The actor who will be performing my work, Sam, nailed both my pieces (with just a few notes about Rachiele, the barber!), and listening to him I’ve learned how to better read my “Samson in Reverse” poem.  Thanks, Sam!
